Throughput of port Ventspils (Latvia) up 18% to 13.6 mln t in 7M’17
In January-July 2017, the port of Ventspils handled 13.6 mln t of cargo (+18%, year-on-year). According to the port authority, transshipment of Ro-Ro cargo grew by 21%. In July, the port handled 1.2 mln t of cargo.
In the 7-month period, the number of passengers carried by Ventspils- Nynäshamn line grew by 33% to 29,507 passengers.
Ventspils port is located near Venta river. There are terminals for loading and unloading of crude and oil products, liquid chemicals and fertilizers, metal and coal, timber and fish, containers and Ro-Ro trailers. In 2016, the port handled 18.8 mln t of cargo.
