The Igor Belousov search-and-rescue ship started surveying of the Dvoynaya bay near the Matua Island, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
During the second expedition on the Matua Island of the Kuril chain, the representatives of the Defense Ministry's Expedition Center, Russian Geographical Society, the Pacific Fleet and Eastern MD personnel are conducting researches and inspecting underground fortifications that had been found earlier.
The personnel are surveying the waters in the southern-eastern coast to find sunken vessels, submarines and other items that can be of a great historical value. The Igor Belousov search-and-rescue ship started surveying the WWII submarine that had been found earlier at a depth of 110 meters near the Yurlov Cape. The ship crew operates the Tiger unmanned underwater vehicle and the Panther Plus underwater search-and-rescue vehicle. The personnel have already conducted several deep diving missions to explore the underwater object in details.
The BGK – 2153 large hydrographic boat is surveying the diving spots to process the hydrographical data.
