Specialists of port Sillamae (Estonia) enter second stage of training programme at simulator complex of Marine Recruiting Agency

On August 14, in the framework of the international cooperation project in the sphere of professional training “Marine Recruiting Agency” (MRA, the company of UCL Holding) launched the second stage of professional training organized for the employees of SILSTEVE – multi-functional terminal in the port of Sillamae in Estonia – for their further work on container cranes.  MRA says this stage will include training on simulators, imitating STS and RTG container operations, at the unique simulator complex of MRA in Saint-Petersburg.

The simulator is equipped with the independent performance evaluation system which allows the instructor to control and correct the trainees in a prompt manner, as well as to analyze the   mistakes. Preliminary work on such simulator will enable the employer to reduce the time usually spent for training of crane drivers and mitigate the risks of possible damage of high-priced mechanizms.

During one week of training on MRA’s simulator workers of SILSTEVE will be able to develop practical skills of driving STS container crane under realistic operational conditions, including various adverse weather conditions and possible emergency situations.

On August 20, upon completion of training on simulators, the third and final stage of the project will be implemented, which will include practical on-site training at SILSTEVE terminal under the supervision of MRA’s instructor. It should be reminded that the first theoretical stage started on July 31 this year. The total duration of the project is one and a half month.
