    RVC announces special nomination of NTI MariNet in the framework of GenerationS-2017

    RVC announces special nomination of NTI MariNet in the framework of start-up accelerator GenerationS-2017. Promising start-ups in the maritime industry will be considered by MariNet working group and can obtain further support under NTI (National Technology Initiative), says press center of GenerationS.

    Potential participants are the designers of marine robotics, new types of vessels, developers of solutions for reduction of emissions from water transport, reconnaissance assets, engineering surveys and offshore production of hydrocarbons, solutions for crewless navigation and other technologies related to maritime industry.

    Key criteria will be the compliance with the NTI Marinet roadmap, novelty, importance, focus on international market, commercialization feasibility, technological feasibility and team competence. 

    The MariNet roadmap of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) aimed at support and promotion of solutions and companies focused on ocean development technologies, digital navigation and innovative shipbuilding to the global market, was approved by the at the presidium of the RF President’s Council for Economic Modernization and Innovative Development of the Russian Federation on 16 October 2015. The MariNet Working Group numbers over 200 experts representing more than 60 companies, scientific centers and high education institutions from 15 regions of Russia as well as heads of ad hoc ministries and agencies.

    GenerationS-2017 industry tracks

    • AGRO&MEDTECH — Increase of agriculture effectiveness, creation of “new food”, bioconversion, solutions in the field of new medicines and diagnostic systems
    • CREATIVE INDUSTRY — New media, urban solutions, fashion, design, entertainment industry
    • ENERGY — Development of personal energy sources and collectors, advanced solutions for extraction, conversion, transfer, distribution and consumption of energy resources
    • FINTECH — High technologies in the field of banking and financial products and services
    • METAL INDUSTRY — Metals treatment, new ore mining technologies, remote and automated mining equipment control,raw materials concentration and quality control
    • TECHNET — Smart production and systems implementation, additive technologies

    Applications for participation in the accelerator should be submitted till 31 October 2017. The programmes of corporate accelerators start in November. They will include educational activities developed in compliance with specific feature of the industry. Then the teams will focus on individual work, the results of which will be presented at the GenerationS-2017 final in April 2018.

    GenerationS — the largest start-up accelerator in Russia and Eastern Europe, the federal platform for the development of corporate acceleration tools. It has been held by RVC since 2013. More than 20 Russian companies, in whose interests the selection and acceleration of startups is carried out, become every year Industrial partners of GenerationS. As a result of the multi-stage examination, the GenerationS participants receive ample opportunities for business development and investment promotion, and to get access to resources and infrastructure of accelerator partners.

    Key results of GenerationS-2016: the total of 4,237 applications came from 250 cities and 30 countries; 15 million rubles — Grand Prix for the winners; 120 projects selected to participate in corporate accelerators in 8 tracks; 100+ million rubles — the total worth of the prize fund.

    RVC — is the Russian government’s fund of funds and the development institute of the Russian Federation, one of country’s key tools to create and expand the national innovation system. The company has a wide range of programs to develop Russia’s venture investment market establish educational and organizational services for market players, as well as increase the ability of Russian technology companies to compete in the global marketplace.

    RVC’s main objectives are to promote Russia’s venture investment industry, and to take on the role as the project office for the National Technology Initiative (NTI).

    RVC’s authorized capital amounts to RUB 30,011,320,700. RVC’s capital is owned in full by the Russian Federation represented by the Russian Federal Agency for State Property (Rosimuschestvo).

    The National Technological Initiative (NTI), unveiled by the President of the Russian Federation on December 4, 2014 in an Address to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, is a long-term public-private partnership program. It is aimed at forming new prospective markets based on high-technology solutions that will determine the development of the world economy over the next 15-20 years. The intended result of the NTI is the emergence of leading Russian companies onto global markets of the future in 2030-2035.
