First vessel with 3,000 t of fish delivered to Arkhangelsk by the Northern Sea Route (photo)

M/V Harmony delivered 3,000 t of fresh-frozen Far Eastern fish to Arkhangelsk. The cargo was shipped by a subsidiary of Dobroflot Group (Primorsky Territory), says press center of the Arkhangelsk Region Government.

The fish is being unloaded at the berth of Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet (ATF JSC) and will be stored in refrigerated warehouse of ATF.

Aleksey Zaplatin, ATF Director General, says it was the first ship to deliver salmon from the Far East adding that long-term cooperation will begin with it. The customers will appreciate the advantages of logistics and the quality of port services.

“We expect that two-three vessels will be accepted in Arkhangelsk every season, which is about 10,000 – 12,000 t of Far Eastern fish. … ATF JSC is completely prepared for increased load,” says Aleksey Zaplatin.

According to the statement, the voyage of M/V Harmony is the first experience of delivering fish from Vladivostok to Arkhangelsk by the Northern Sea Route.

The impetus to implementation of the plans on delivering fish from the Far East to the Central Russia by the Northern Sea Route was given by the International Forum “Arctic: Territory of Dialogue”. When discussing this logistic scheme the participants noted that Arkhangelsk has all infrastructure facilities required for transshipment of fish products.
