Murmansk Sea Fishing Port handled 234,900 t in 8M’17, up 20.6% to (photo)

In January-August 2017, Murmansk Sea Fishing Port JSC handled 234,900 t of cargo, up 20.6%, year-on-year, shows the stevedoring company’s statistics.

In the reporting period, the company handled 141,500 t of fish products (+18%, year-on-year).

In August 2017, the port handled 27,800 t, up 0.7%, year-on-year, including 17,100 t of fish (+8.9%). In June the company handled 23,400 t of fish, in July - 26,500 t. The decrease is attributed to worse fishing conditions. However, the number of calls in August totaled 106 including 90 fishing ships.

JSC Murmansk Sea Fishing Port specializes in handling cargo from fishing boats, mother ships and reefer ships. It also transships packaged, palleted and loose cargo, as well as general cargo of commercial and military use. The company’s quay side is 4.5 km long. It owns port fleet, fleet of lifting equipment, auxiliary equipment, refrigerators, rail facilities and yard engines.

In 2016, the company handled 308,900 t of cargo (-16.8%).
