Vice-Admiral Kulakov ASW ship escorted convoy through Gulf of Aden

The Vice-Admiral Kulakov ASW ship of the Northern Fleet, which is conducting combat training tasks in a remote ocean zone, has escorted a ship through the Gulf of Aden to the Red Sea, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.

The Russian sailors escorted the bulk carrier flying the Barbados flag from the Northern part of the Arabian Sea. The company sailing took three days until all the dangerous parts of the Southern part of the Red Sea had been passed. Currently, the threat of attack is low and the ship can continue the march alone.

The Vice-Admiral Kulakov ASW crew has started an exercise on the transferring of liquid cargo from the Kama tanker on the go astern. After replenishing the supplies, the Russian sailors are to continue escorting civil ships from the Red Sea to the Indian Ocean.
