In January-September 2017, the network of Russian Railways loaded 937.3 mln t of cargo, up 3.6%, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 262.96 mln t (+9.3% year-on-year); coke – 8.4 mln t (-3.6%); crude and oil products – 175.2 mln t (+0.2%); iron and manganese ores – 82.4 mln t (-0.2%); ferrous metal – 53.5 mln t (+1.2%); ferrous metal scrap – 11.5 mln t (+4.1%); chemical and mineral fertilizers – 42.5 mln t (+7.9%); cement – 21.2 mln t (-0.7%); timber – 33.4 mln t (+3.8%); grain – 14.6 mln t (+12.3%); construction materials – 101.9 mln t (-8.3%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 15.3 mln t (-4.9%); chemicals and soda – 19.3 mln t (+2.1%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 27.4 mln t (+5.6%).
From the beginning of the year, freight turnover totaled 1,845.9 bln tariff ton-km (+6.6%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 2353.7 bln ton-km (+6.3%).
In September, loading grew by 1,8% year-on-year to 103.8 mln t.
Freight turnover in September grew by 4.2% to 203.3 bln tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run grew by 4.2% to 258.8 bln ton-km.
