On October 26, a business meeting was held between the management of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company and representatives of the Russian United Shipbuilding Corporation. During the meeting, the guests provided detailed information about the corporation they represented. It was stressed that the Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard, which is part of the Corporation and is one of the oldest Russian shipbuilding enterprises, was founded in 1849 and became highly reputable outside of Russia with the various products released throughout its history, including vessels that have no analogues all over the world.
The Chairman of the Caspian Sea Shipping Company Mr. Rauf Veliyev and the director of the Marketing and Sales Department of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Dmitry Pryakhin exchanged views on cooperation issues and discussed prospects for the development of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the presentation on the latest projects realized by the Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard was also demonstrated. Detailed information was provided on the new passenger vessel, which will be operated in cruise voyages along the rivers of Russia.
Representatives of USC also talked about passenger vessels that will be operated in the Caspian Sea. The Chairman of the Shipping Company stressed that currently Azerbaijan is researching this issue in detail.
It should be noted that there are deep historical ties between the Krasnoe Sormovo Shipyard and Azerbaijan. Thus, since 1971, for the purposes of the Azerbaijan Shipping Company, the shipyard has built 17 vessels for the transport of dry and liquid cargo.
Also about 300 warship submarines, including 26 nuclear vessels were built at the Krasnoe Sormovo Shipyard and handed over to the Navy of the Russian Federation.
