In January-November 2017, the Port of Helsinki (Finland) handled 13.1 mln t of cargo (+14%, year-on-year), the port authority says.
Transshipment of bulk cargo grew by 21.2% to 1.89 mln t, container throughput climbed by 8.2% to 449,180 TEUs.
Passenger traffic climbed by 1.6% to 10.8 mln passengers.
The number of calls increased by 1.7% to 8,178.
The Port of Helsinki is one of the largest ports in Finland, the largest passenger port and the third largest in the Baltic Sea. The Port of Helsinki accounts for 77% of Finland's passenger traffic. In 2016, the port handled 11.62 mln t of cargo (+1.9%, year-on-year).
