FSUE Atomflot says 492 vessels with total capacity of 7.17 mln t were escorted by nuclear-powered icebreakers on the Northern Sea Route in 2017, up 20% versus 410 vessels with total capacity of 5.28 mln t escorted in 2016.
According to Mustafa Kashka, Chief Engineer and First Deputy Director General of FSUE Atomflot, the number of escorts will continue to grow in the future.
Atomflot’s revenue in 2017 totaled RUB 6,622 mln (in 2013 – RUB 1,828 mln). Over the five-year period (between 2013 and 2017) it surged 3.6 times.
According to the statement, efficiency of labour increased from RUB 1,511 thou in 2013 to RUB 3,667 thou in 2017 (up 243%).
“The year of 2017 saw a positive financial result: net profit of Rosatomflot totaled RUB 696 mln”, said Mustafa Kashka.
