In January-February 2018, the network of Russian Railways loaded 203.3 bln t of cargo, up 3.7%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 60.8 million tonnes (+1.1%, year-on-year); coke – 1.78 million tonnes (-1.2%); crude and oil products – 39.5 million tonnes (-2.6%); iron and manganese ore – 17.7 million tonnes (+4%); ferrous metal – 12.6 million tonnes (+10.3%); ferrous metal scrap – 1.5 million tonnes (-16.6%); chemicals and mineral fertilizers – 9.97 million tonnes (+6.4%); cement – 2.7 million tonnes (+7.3%); timber – 7.1 million tonnes (+5.5%); grain – 4.5 million tonnes (+41.5%); construction cargo – 18.2 million tonnes (+9.8%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 3.1 million tonnes (-1.2%); chemicals and soda – 4.5 million tonnes (+0.8%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 5.3 million tonnes (+16.3%).
From the beginning of the year, freight turnover totaled 411.7 billion tariff ton-km (+4.8%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 525.7 billion ton-km (+4.1%).
In February 2018, freight turnover totaled 196.3 billion tariff ton-km (+3.7%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 251.3 billion ton-km (+3.4%).
