Seaports of Ukraine handled 20.5 million tonnes of cargo in 2M’17, up 4.6% Y-o-Y
In January-February 2018, seaports of Ukraine handled 20.5 million tonnes of cargo, up 4.6%, year-on-year, says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
Transshipment of import cargo grew by 24.4% to 3.5 million tonnes including 1 million tonnes of coal (+26.6%, year-on-year), 1.1 million tonnes of ore (+8.7%), 0.05 million tonnes of vegetable oil (+89.2%), 0.08 million tonnes of crude oil (-1.8%) and 0.07 million tonnes of oil products (-23.5%). Exports declined by 3.4% to 14.9 million tonnes including 2.8 million tonnes of ferrous metal (+8%) and 5.9 million tonnes of grain (-1.3%).
Transshipment of transit cargo grew by 54.1% to 1.9 million tonnes.
Container throughput climbed by 7% to 1,592 ТЕUs.
From the beginning of 2018 seaports of Ukraine handled 1,850 vessels, up 34% (469 units) more as compared with the same period of 2017.
