Vympel Shipyard laid down second armament support ship of Project 20360М for RF Defence Ministry (photo)
On 15 March 2018, Vympel Shipyard (Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region) laid down the second armament support ship of Project 20360М (Hull No 01552) for RF Defence Ministry, says the shipyard.
The first ship named Gennady Dmitriyev (hull No 01551) is under construction at Vympel Shipyard.
The second one named Vladimir Pyalov after famous designer of multi-purpose nuclear-powered submarines will be built by Nobel Brothers Shipyard .
The contract between Vympel Shipyard and RF Defence Ministry for construction of two armament support ships of Project 20360М was signed on 25 March 2016. The second ship is to be delivered to the customer in 2020. Under the contract she will join the Baltic Sea Fleet of RF Navy.
