In the Baltic Sea, the ship minesweeping group consisting of the sea minesweeper Aleksandr Obukhov, harbour minesweeper Novocheboksarsk and roadstead minesweeper RT-273 exercised to neutralise the mines laid by the simulated adversary, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
In accordance with the plan, minesweepers of a formation of the Baltiysk naval base’s water area protection worked out mine countermeasures support for the Baltic Fleet's ship forces when deploying from their stationing point and sailing in conditions of the use of mine weapons by the simulated enemy.
During the sortie, the ships successfully performed the tasks of setting contact and non-contact sweeps, forcing mine barriers with fulfilling a set of measures in order to eliminate floating, bottom and anchor mines with the simulated use of cord charges. During the search and minesweeping in the assigned square, the ships successfully detected and destroyed all mock mines. In addition, the seamen carried out a set of artillery firings at sea and air targets, worked out anti-sabotage and air defence actions with the use of MANPADSs.
