Russian Railways' network loading up 3.4% to 424.6 million tonnes in Jan-Apr'18
In January-April 2018, the network of Russian Railways loaded 424.6 million tonnes of cargo, up 3.6%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 125.6 million tonnes (+4.8% year-on-year); coke – 3.6 million tonnes (-2.9%); crude and oil products – 79.5 million tonnes (-1.2%); iron and manganese ore – 36.9 million tonnes (+3.6%); ferrous metal – 26.5 million tonnes (+10.9%); ferrous metal scrap – 3.8 million tonnes (-6.8%); chemicals and mineral fertilizers – 20.3 million tonnes (+6.6%); cement – 6.6 million tonnes (-4.1%); timber – 15.5 million tonnes (+3.2%); grain – 9.8 million tonnes (+45,6%); construction materials – 40 million tonnes (-0.1%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 6.4 million tonnes (-3.8%); chemical s and soda – 9.1 million tonnes (+2.1%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 11.1 million tonnes (+1.4%).
From the beginning of the year, freight turnover totaled 852 billion tariff ton-km (+4.8%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 1,086.6 billion ton-km (+4.4%).
In April, loading totaled 108.9 million tonnes (+3.4%). Freight turnover in April totaled 215.5 billion tariff ton-km (+5%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 274.6 billion ton-km (+5.1%).
