In January-April 2018, Murmansk Sea Fishing Port JSC handled 117,700 tonnes of cargo, up 8.8%, year-on-year, shows the stevedoring company’s statistics.
In the reporting period, the company handled 94,000 tonnes of fish, up 77.4%, year-on-year.
In April, the port’s throughput grew by 2%, year-on-year, to 29,900 tonnes including 17,500 tonnes of fish (+10.1%).
According to the statement, the port throughput grew because capelin catch moratorium was lifted and in early April the port handled large capacity ships which delivered 4,729 tonnes of capelin and contributed a lot to the final result.
JSC Murmansk Sea Fishing Port specializes in handling cargo from fishing boats, mother ships and reefer ships. It also transships packaged, palleted and loose cargo, as well as general cargo of commercial and military use. The company’s quay side is 4.5 km long. It owns port fleet, fleet of lifting equipment, auxiliary equipment, refrigerators, rail facilities and yard engines.
