KONTUR SPb acquires 8,500 DWT oil tanker

ООО KONTUR SPb has acquired a 8,500 DWT oil tanker, the largest bunkering ship under the flag of Russia to operate in the Baltic area. The tanker is named ODIN after a supreme god in Germanic mythology, the company told IAA PortNews. 

The ship built in Shanghai (China) in 1998 features ice class Arc3 and unrestricted navigation. It complies with all international shipping conventions. Ship’s cargo capacity – 8,500 tonnes, length – 115.1 m, width – 18.26 meters, depth – 9.89 meters.

The ODIN is registered with Russian Maritime Register of Shipping with Saint-Petersburg as its homeport. 

The tanker will start operating at the port of Saint-Petersburg in the second half of July.

“It is the largest bunkering tanker flying the flag of Russia in the North-West region and in the Baltic Sea. The new ship will let the company strengthen its position in the region and in Big Port St. Petersburg where our holding is the third with its sales exceeding 240,000 tonnes. In 2017, we sold about 400,000 tonnes of bunker in the North-West region. The ODIN will be deployed for bunkering operations and for exports. We are going to increase the sales, particularly with the development of our own terminal, Turukhtanniye Islands, in the port of Saint-Petersburg”, said Stanislav Korneyev, Director General of OOO Baltic Fuel Company

ООО KONTUR SPb is a part of OOO Baltic Fuel Company, a bunkering holding established in Saint-Petersburg in 2008. The group’s companies are involved in exports of oil products, bunkering of vessels, providing of environmental services, etc. The company’s fleet numbering 34 units is the largest in the North-West region of Russia. The company is among the top three leading bunker suppliers in Saint-Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. it is also one of the three leaders in the North-West market of oil product motor transportation.
