Commercial Port of Vladivostok handled 5.8 million tonnes in 7M’18, up 40% Y-o-Y

Commercial Port of Vladivostok (CPV, part of FESCO Transportation Group) says it handled over 5.8 million tonnes of cargo in 7M’2018. The result has increased by 40%, year-on-year, and has exceeded its total throughput in 2016.

The stevedoring company says the highest growth in the first half of 2018 was seen in the segment of ferrous metal, automobiles, special equipment and containerized cargo.

In the 7-months period, transshipment of general cargo surged by 76%, from 1.67 million tonnes to 2.94 million tonnes with the share of ferrous metal having surged by 113%, from 0.78 million tonnes to 1.89 million tonnes. Transshipment of containerized cargo grew by 16%, from 253,000 TEUs to 294,000 TEUs, automobiles and special equipment – by 83%, from 18,000 to 33,000 units.

In 2016, the port handled 5.6 million tonnes of cargo, in 2017 – 7.5 million tonnes (a record high result). This year the company is going to break that record having handled about 10 million tonnes.
