The volume of loaded freight across the rail network of Far-Eastern Railways (RZD unit) in January-July totaled 28.2 million tonnes, which represents a 2-percent gain on last year’s figures, the rail operator said on Tuesday.
The seven-month volume of loaded freight includes: coal - 10.8 million tonnes (+ 0.1% Y/Y); petroleum products - 5.87 million tonnes (+ 0.3%); timber cargo - 2.9 million tonnes (-4.6%); cement – 720,000 tonnes (-6.2%); ferrous metals – 358,000 tonnes (+ 142.5%); ferrous metal scrap – 97,000 tonnes (-22.6%).
Seven-month total freight throughput reached 119.8 billion of tariff t/km, which is up 1.5% on the previous year. The volume taking into account the mileage of unladen raicars – 156,6 bn of t/km (+ 1.7%).
Loading of freight in July fell 1.3% to 4.1 million tonnes.
Rail freight monthly throughput in July was 17.3 billion of tariff t/km (+2.9%), taking into account the mileage of unladen raicars, reached 21.8 billion t/km (+4%) more than in July 2017.
