Transport Ministry tasked to look into possibility of LNG shipments by foreign flagged coastal vessels

Russia’s ministries of Transport and of Industry and Trade, their heads Yevgeny Dietrich and Denis Manturov, were ordered to study in conjunction with relevant federal executive authorities and organizations the possibility of short sea transportation of LNG and condensate in by vessels flying the flag of foreign states. The corresponding instructions were given following the meeting in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on August 10, 2018 on the project of a Kamchatka marine terminal for handling LNG chaired by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, the government press office said.

The results are to be reported in due course to the government by September 10, 2018.

In addition, the Ministry of Economic Development (Alexander Kozlov), the Ministry of Transport (Yevgeny Dietrich), the Ministry of Energy (Alexander Novak), the Finance Ministry (Anton Siluanov), together with interested federal executive bodies, the government of the Kamchatka Krai (based on NOVATEK’s feasibility study of the marine LNG transshipment facility, Oct. 1, 2018), to submit to the Government of the Russian Federation a draft decree of the Government of the Russian Federation on the approval and a comprehensive implementation plan for LNG facility project.
