Box traffic at CPV in Jan-Oct grows 16% to 448,000 TEUs

Container throughput at Commercial Sea Port of Vladivostok (CPV, part of FESCO Transportation Group) in January-October 2018 totaled 448,000 TEUs, which represents a 16-percent gain on the ten-month period 2017, FESCO Group said.

In the reporting period container handling rate increased: 271 cars / day (up 17% on 231 units in 2017).

In October 2018, container throughput at CTV reached 55,500 TEUs, which is a record monthly volume of container traffic ever. The previous record was registered this May, at 51,600 TEUs.

The CPV authority implementing its container terminal modernization programme on October 1, took delivery of a pair of new RMG cranes. The cranes total capacity will enable the terminal operator to perform up to 840 lifts a day, which will increase the handling rate at offdock yard by 15-20%. The RMG cranes will enter service on December 24, 2018.

PAO Commercial Port of Vladivostok (part of FESCO Transportation Group) is one of the largest stevedoring companies in the Russian Far East. The Company offers services on transshipment of container/general/bulk/Rо-Rо cargoes. Annual throughput capacity of the port is 3.9 million tons of general cargo and oil products, 150,000 vehicles and over 600 thousand TEU of containers. Commercial Port of Vladivostok operates 15 berths with a total length of 3.2 km.
