RF President signs Law on Accession to the Protocol of 2002 to the Athens Convention

Russian President has signed the Federal Law On the Russian Federation’s Accession to the Protocol of 2002 to the Athens Convention relating to the Carriage of Passengers and their Luggage by Sea, 1974 and Denunciation of the Athens Convention relating to the Carriage of Passengers and their Luggage by Sea, 1974 and the Protocol of 1976 to the Athens Convention relating to the Carriage of Passengers and their Luggage by Sea, 1974.

According to the press center of Kremlin, the State Duma passed the Federal Law 15 November 2018. The Federation Council approved it on 23 November 2018. 

According to the statement, “The Federal Law will ensure additional protection of Russian citizens’ interests since it will give equal rights to Russian passengers as compared with passengers from states being parties to the Protocol of 2002”.
