Cargo traffic at the Port of St. Petersburg in January-November increased by 11% from the previous year’s figures, to 54.15 million tonnes, the Port Authority statistics showed.
In the reporting period, liquid bulk segment saw a 27-percent gain to 8.50 million tons, while dry bulk cargo volume decreased by 5% to 7.56 million tonnes. Handling of break bulk cargo rose 9% to 12.45 million tonnes, Ro-Ro cargo increased by 14% to 1.29 million tonnes.
Container traffic also increase by 11.2% to 1.95 million TEUs.
A year ago, cargo throughput at the port totaled 53.64 million tonnes and container volume - 1.92 million TEUs.
