Cargo traffic at the Port of Vyborg in January-November totaled 1,727,800 tonnes, a 24-percent growth on the same period 2017, the Baltic Sea Ports Authority said.
In the reporting period handling of dry bulk cargo increased by 28% to 1,627,700 tonnes. Coal and coke exports leaped by 79% to 1,105,300 tonnes, handling of mineral fertilizers increased by 12% to 485,900 tonnes.
At the same time, liquid bulk cargo, including chemicals, decreased by 14% to 14,700 tonnes. Break bulk segment saw a 7% decline to 71,800 tonnes, including 12,200 tonnes of scrap metal (-22%).
Cargo throughput at the Port of Vyborg in 2017 rose 12% to 1.54 million tonnes.
