Nevsky Shipyard to build an LNG-powered ro-ro ferry for Ust-Luga – Baltijsk line
Nevsky Shipyard has been defined as the only contractor under Rosmorrechflot’s 2018 - 2019 procurement programme on construction of a ro-ro ferry for Ust-Luga – Baltijsk line. RF Government Order dated 22 December 2018 (No 2895-р) is available on the official internet portal for legal information.
According to the Order, Rosmorrechflot (Federal Marine and River Transport Agency) should sign a state contract with Nevsky Shipyard with a “possibility to amend the contract implementation period upon agreement achieved by the parties …”.
According to earlier statements, construction of an LNG-powered ro-ro ferry of CNF19М design for Ust-Luga – Baltijsk line has been included into the federal targeted programme for the Kaliningrad Region development through 2020.
CNF19M ship is a 200-meter long gas-powered ro-ro ferry of Arc4 class, with an enclosed deck for railcars and open upper deck for trailers and trucks. The vessel will have a double-screw propulsion plant. It can be bunkered simultaneously from four tractor-trailor units or from a coastal LNG bunker base.
