The delivery of the new supply ship of Project 22420, Ivan Sidorenko, has been held in Vladivostok, says press center of the Khabarovsk Territory Government.
The ship built by Amur Shipyard left Komsomolsk-on-Amur in October 2017 and underwent outfitting in Vladivostok, at the ship repair center “Dalzavod”.
The ship homeported in Kaliningrad will start operating in spring. The vessel equipped with the dynamic positioning system will supply drilling and production platforms. In case of emergency the vessel can help damaged vessels and floating drilling rigs, accommodate rescued people, assist in firefighting operations.
The second ship in the series named Ostap Sheremet is to be delivered to the customer by April 2019 when drilling and explorations works beгода, к моменту начала буровых и разведывательных работ в северных морях России.
United Shipbuilding Corporation and Gazprom Flot earlier signed a contract for construction of two supply ships of Project 22420 for works with semi-submersible floating drilling rigs in the interest of Gazprom. The delivery of the first ship was scheduled for April 2018.
The ship designed by Central Design Bureau “Baltsudoproekt” is built by Amur Shipbuilding Plant, a shipyard of United Shipbuilding Corporation.
Amur Shipbuilding Plant (Amur Shipyard) was founded in 1936 and today is a leading shipbuilding company in the Far East of Russia. The shipyard can build warships and civil vessels with displacement of up to 25,000 tonnes.
