Khabarovsk Shipyard laid down yet another tugboat of Project 00440 for Amur Shipyard
On 29 January 2019, Khabarovsk Shipyard (a company of the United Shipbuilding Corporation), laid down the second tugboat in a series of Project 00440 ships ordered by Amur Shipyard (USC company). USC says Khabarovsky Shipyard is currently building two tugboats of this design.
The lessor under the contract is Mashpromleasing, a subsidiary of USC. The tugboat was designed by Vympel design bureau (also a USC company).
Amur Shipyard is going to deploy its new tugboats for moving newbuilds to Vladivostok for outfitting, sea and mooring trials with further delivery to the customers, as well as for providing of towing services.
The lead ship is to be built in 2019 with the second one to be completed in 2020.
Key particulars: LOA – 35 m; BOA – 9.5 m; draft – no more than 3.5 m; speed – 12 knots; crew – 8.
Khabarovsk Shipyard is one of the largest shipbuilding plants in the Far East of Russia. Throughout its history the shipyard has built over 350 warships and civil vessels of different classes and projects. More than 20 warships have been exported to India, Syria, Cuba, Korea.
