In January 2019, the network of Russian Railways loaded 105.4 million tonnes of cargo, up 1.6%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 32.9 million tonnes (+5.2% year-on-year); coke – 0.986 million tonnes (+9.1%); crude and oil products – 20.7 million tonnes (-0.1%); ron and manganese ore – 9.9 million tonnes (+7.5%); ferrous metal – 6.6 million tonnes (+0.1%); ferrous metal scrap – 0.590 million tonnes (-10.5%); chemical and mineral fertilizers – 5.3 million tonnes (+2.1%); cement – 1.1 million tonnes (-7.5%); timber – 3.6 million tonnes (+6%); grain – 1.99 million tonnes (-8.5%); construction cargo – 8.3 million tonnes (-5.1%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 1.5 million tonnes (-4.4%); chemicals and soda – 2.3 million tonnes (-5%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 2.5 million tonnes (-11.1%).
In January 2019, freight turnover grew by 2.1% to 220 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run grew by 2.3% to 280.8 billion ton-km .
