ECSA issues statement on suspected attack on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman
Regarding the report about the two tankers that were attacked in the Gulf of Oman this morning, European shipowners are extremely concerned and are working with the authorities to better understand the situation on the ground, ECSA said in its release.
ECSA is relieved that the crew is safe and unharmed, except for one minor injury.
Martin Dorsman, ECSA’s Secretary-General said: “The new attacks putting the life of seafarers at risk and disrupting the sailing of merchant vessels through the Strait of Hormuz are extremely worrying. We are currently monitoring the situation closely and will act in accordance with any guidance that authorities may provide.”
