Investments in Russia’s fishery industry in the first quarter of 2019 totaled RUB 4.5 billion, IAA PortNews correspondent cites RF Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev as saying at the plenary session “Ocean of Opportunities: Nature, Economy and People” of the III Global Fishery Forum and International Exhibition of Fish Industry, Seafood and Technology (Seafood Expo Russia).
“That is a very good result but at the same time we see reserves to improve efficiency of fishery”, he said.
In 2018, investments into the fishery industry grew by 22%, year-on-year, to RUB 32.5 billion.
Production of commercial aquaculture in 2018 grew by 9% to 249,000 tonnes with revenues of fishery having increased by 10% to RUB 341 billion. The profit of involved organizations grew by 22.7% to RUB 104 billion.
