Rosmorport starts dredging works in Sabetta seaport (Yamal)

On 28 July 2019, dredgers of FSUE Rosmorport’s Arkhangelsk arrived at Sabetta seaport (Yamal) to perform scheduled dredging works. According to the company’s press center, TSHD Severnaya Dvina and TSHD Beloye Morye will be involved in repair dredging within water areas of Berths NoNo 2-4, technological berths and access canal to Sabetta.

FSUE Rosmorport is to dredge about 500,000 cbm of material to remove sediments accumulated between seasons in the navigable areas and to ensure safe navigation depth. The dredging operations will cover an area of about 4.2 square kilometers. All dredging works comply with the requirements of the environmental legislation.

The Severnaya Dvina and Beloye Morye dredgers of TSHD 2000 design were built in 2016 and 2018 respectively. They comply with requirements on operation in harsh climate conditions of the northern region. The ships fitted with high performance dredging equipment can operate in waves of up to 2.0 meters. It should be noted that during the internavigational period of 2018-2019 these vessels were deployed for repair dredging in sea ports of the Baltic region: Ust-Luga, Big Port St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad.
