Cargo throughput at the terminals of Port of Taganrog, a marine hub in this Russia’s southern region for export/imports/transit flows, in January-July 2019 totaled 1,569,000 tonnes. This is an 11% decline on the same period 2018, the IAA PortNews correspondent reports citing Azov Sea Marine Authority’s statistics.
Oil product volume rose by the same 11% and totaled 471,000 tonnes, handling of ferrous metals soared 36%, to 67,000 tonnes. On the contrary, the volume of export grain plummeted by 20% to 638,000 tonnes, of coal - by 26% to 281,000 tonnes.
The seven-month volume of imports jumped by 13% to 64,000 tonnes, while exports showed a 7% decline, to 981 000. Handling of coastal trade cargo fell 19% to 524 000 tonnes.
In the reporting period the Taganrog Harbourmaster office registered 410 arrivals and 391 departures, including harbour fleet vessels as compared with 459 / 443 arrivals / departures a year earlier.
