Missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov of RF Navy's Northern Fleet makes business call at Piraes Greek port

Northern Fleet missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov made business call at Piraes Greek port in Aegean sea. In late September, Northern Fleet support vessels — the tanker Vyazma and the tugboat SB-406 — already called at this port, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.

The visit of Russian sailors will last three days. The senior on the campaign and the commander of the cruiser will make a number of protocol meetings with representatives of the port administration and the municipality.

In addition, the ship will be visited by representatives of the Russian diplomatic corps.

Upon completion of the visit to Greece, the cruiser will continue to fulfill the tasks of a long voyage in the Mediterranean Sea.

The missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov, accompanied by support vessels, entered the Mediterranean Sea on August 22. Northern Fleet servicemen conducted a series of exercises and visited Algeria, Egypt, Turkey, and support vessels also made business calls to Cyprus and Greece.

The ship left Severomorsk  main base of the Northern Fleet on July 3 to participate in the Main Naval Parade in St. Petersburg. After the parade, its crew took part in Ocean Shield 2019 Navy training.

Since leaving the base, the ship has covered about 16,000 nautical miles.
