Norsepower signs service agreement with Wärtsilä to strengthen global wind propulsion service network

Norsepower Oy Ltd., the leading provider of low maintenance, software operated, data verified auxiliary wind propulsion systems, has announced a service cooperation agreement with Wärtsilä - a global leader in smart technologies and complete lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy market.

With the growth of Norsepower’s manufacturing capacity and increased global demand for its Rotor Sails, the collaboration will help the organisation work at scale and further strengthen its customer service offering in cooperation with Wärtsilä’s global supplier network.

Servicing both local and international shipowners, Norsepower is dedicated to ensuring a reliable, timely service to its customers, and with the support of Wärtsilä’s global service network, Norsepower will provide a tailor-made service offering to match customer requirements, wherever they may be.

Since their launch in 2014, Norsepower’s Rotor Sails have seen installation aboard three vessels and a fourth one to be installed in 2020, and in that time Norsepower Rotor Sails have reduced their CO2 output by an estimated 5,000 tons. Coming in heights of 18, 24, and 30 metres, the size and number of Rotor Sails installed are custom fitted to suit the vessel’s operating profile and to provide versatile and safe solution.
