Tallinn Shipyard, a subsidiary of BLRT Grupp, has won an award at the prestigious 2019 international SAFETY4SEA EUROPORT Awards for emphasising on every safety aspect, such as improving working conditions, acquiring the necessary equipment, developing infrastructure, preventing production risks and implementing environmental projects, BLRT Grupp says in a press release.
Tallinn Shipyard is the first company in the Baltic states to be awarded such a prominent prize, which is given to organisations that effectively implement risk minimisation and safety programmes.
Andrejus Babachinas, Head of BLRT Repair Yards, commented on the triumph of the Tallinn Shipyard team. “It is a great honour for us to receive this award, especially if we take into account the other esteemed nominees in this category. We are very pleased that the efforts Tallinn Shipyard and BLRT Grupp have been making in meeting customer needs have been recognised. The presence of the necessary equipment and infrastructure at the shipyard contributes to our ability to repair and modernise ships.”
He also expressed confidence that security is foremost. It is related to the people who work and visit the companies of the group, as well as the environment and ecology as a whole.

The SAFETY4SEA EUROPORT Awards is being held for the fourth consecutive year. Tallinn Shipyard was nominated by closed voting by ship-owners and ship operators, as well as other industry experts. The winner was determined by online voting.
