The Government of the Russian Federation approved the fishery industry development strategy till 2030 and the plan for its implementation by Order No 2798-р dated 26 November 2019, says press center of RF Government.
The strategy is aimed at ensuring dynamic development of fishery industry, upgrading of production facilities, shifting away from the focus on export of raw products by encouragement of production with high-added value, creation of favorable conditions for businesses and investments in the industry.
The document was submitted by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
The Strategy foresees implementation of five basic (investment) projects and seven supportive (auxiliary) projects.
In particular, the Strategy foresees the increase of gross added value, total number of jobs in the industry (by 24,500), 1.4-fold rise in labor productivity (vs 2018), development and introduction of national ecological certification system, increase of local cargo handling in seaports to 3 million tonnes per year, increase of domestic fishing fleet servicing in Russian ports to 80%.
The Strategy is to be implemented in two phases: the first one – till 31 December 2025, the second one – between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2030.
