Construction work on a lead ship of crab catchers series of Project 03141 is in full swing at Vladivostok based Vostochnaya Verf Shipyard. The shipbuilder slated the launching ceremony for October-November 2020, the shipbuilding company press office said.
The shipyard was visited on July 30 by to the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship Denis Kravchenko and the Chairman of Vladivostok Duma Andrey Brik.
The officials inspected the construction at Vostochnaya Verft of crab catchers being built under the presidential program for providing crab fishing quotas in exchange for investments in shipbuilding.
The contract will be completed on time and on budget, despite the COVID-19 restrictions. About 150-160 workers are engaged in the construction of the crab catchers.
Denis Kravchenko was informed about the Vostochnaya Verf plans to modernize the shipyard. Labor productivity will be increased by 60-70%, while production costs will be reduced by 20-30%. The programme includes digitalization of workflow, the improvement of business processes, the construction of new shops, the expansion of slipways, the renewal of the equipment fleet and the introduction of robotic technology.
The investment project is being prepared in cooperation with the Government of the Primorsky Territory, Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, and the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Industrial Development Fund.
Vostochnaya Verf signed contracts for five crab catchers of Projects 03141 and 03140. The lead vessel was laid down in November 2019. Within the framework of the presidential program, it is planned to build 41 crab fishing vessels, of which 15 will be built in the Russian Far East.
