Port charges to increase in Dampier (Australia) from July 1, 2007

Port charges levied by Dampier Port Authority will increase with effect from July 1, 2007. Port dues will increase from A$ 0.075 to A$ 0.08885 cents per GRT (plus GST). Berth hire at the Dampier Public Wharf will increase from $25 per/hr Per/50M to $47.50 per/hr Per/50M (plus GST). The port authority says that the increases are necessary to continue development in the port in 2007-08.
