The roadshow intends to promote its Free Zone to Indian manufacturers, shippers, forwarders, logistics providers and cargo owners.
It added that the main objective of the roadshow is to attract companies from India which has plans to expand their businesses in the Iskandar Development Region (IDR) and do business in PTP’s Free Zone, the main Free Trade Zone in the IDR.
Being one of the key strategic drivers in the development and success of IDR, PTP can help promote Malaysia’s new economic growth area through Pelepas Free Zone.
“Through this roadshow, we hope that Indian investors will realize that the Pelepas Free Zone, its hinterland and the IDR offer a very strategic location for them to expand their businesses,” it said.
PTP chief executive officer Harun Johari said recently that the port, by virtue of the global sea connectivity offers its Free Zone, which could help the government to achieve its ambition to develop the IDR into South-East Asia’s next metropolis by driving the creation of an integrated logistics hub which also involves the Senai Airport and Johor Port.
