In January-March 2007, Commercial Seaport of Reni (Ukraine) handled 0.72 million tons of cargo (+9.6%, year-on-year), the port’s administration reports according to RBC-Ukraine. The increase is attributed to growing volume of Russiam coal and ore transit by 6.7% to 157 thou tons and by 4.8% to 175 thou tons, correspondingly. Besides, transit of oil products grew 2.1 times to 85 thou tons. In 2006, throughput of the Danube’s largest commercial seaport decreased by 18% - to 2 million tons because of shallowing of Ukraine’s deep-water navigation pass "Danube – Black Sea". The navigation is to resume this month.
