In January-April 2007, the port of Temryuk handled 366.08 thou tons (+14.75%, year-on-year), PortNews IAA learnt from Taman branch of Rosmorport FSUE. In the four-month period the port transshipped 320.40 thou tons of export cargo (+3.92%, year-on-year), including 97.116 thou tons of sawn timber, 20.570 thou tons of round timber, 79.094 thou tons of chemical cargo. Over the reported period the port handled 1.040 thou tons of grain cargo, 58.290 thou tons of metal scrap, 17.034 thou tons of fertilizers, 50.929 thou tons of non-ferrous metal, 44.390 thou tons of general cargo. Transshipment of import cargo amounted to 45.68 thou tons (4.3-fold growth, year-on-year). In January-April 2007, the port handled 187 vessels (+23.03%, year-on-year).

The port of Temryuk is located at Taman coast of the Sea of Azov. Total length of the port’s berths is 1200 running meters. Major type of cargo handled at the port is the general cargo: round timber, timber materials, metal, as well as out-of-gage load and foodstuffs. Dredging works carried out from 1996, has almost finalized for the moment being at the approach canal, and the port is able to accept river-and-sea-going vessels with up to 5,000 tons of displacement.
