Throughput of Klaipeda Commercial Seaport up 12.2% in Jan.-Apr. 07, y-o-y

In January-April 2007, Commercial Seaport of Klaipeda handled 8.57 million tons of cargo (+12.2%, year-on-year), RZD-Partner reports. The highest growth was demonstrated in transshipment of loose dry fertilizers (+47.3%), containers (+33.5%) and ro-ro units (+19.1%). In the 4-month period transshipment of  liquid bulk cargo (oil products) grew by  9.6% to 2.6 million tons.  Passenger flow grew by 20.7% to 54.2 thou persons.  In April, the port’s loading grew by 8.4% to 2.19 million tons.
