Bergen-based chemical tanker to liner and forestry carrier owner/operator Seatrans has announced record results after tax of NOK 218.0 million for 2006 against NOK 154.0 million a year earlier. Gross group operating income last year was NOK 1.39 billion against NOK 1.139 billion in 2005. Seatrans is strong in small and medium size chemical tankers.
The North Sea liner company Sea Cargo, in which Seatrans has 60 per cent, also had a good year and the company is in the middle of a major fleet renewal program. Sea Cargo currently has 28 vessels of which 20 are wholly-owned.
