Container turnover of NUTEP (Novorossijsk) up 56.8% in Jan.-Apr. 07, y-o-y

In January-April 2007, Novorossijsk Central Forwarding Company OJSC (NUTEP, Novorossijsk) handled 42,092 TEU (+56.8 %, year-on-year), NCC’s press release reports. In April the terminal handled 10,322 TEU (6,959 units), 43% growth, year-on-year. Export amounted to 4,407 TEU, import – 5,915 TEU. Loaded/empty containers ratio makes 72.9% / 27.1% correspondingly. The terminal handled 9 vessels with average turnover of 1,147 TEU per vessel. National Container Company (NCC) is the leading Russian operator of container terminals. It holds leading position at the market of stevedoring services. NCC is owned in equal shares by First Quantum and FESCO transport group (FESCO’s control stock is owned by Industrial Investors Group).  NCC assets include First Container Terminal (port of St. Petersburg), Novorossijsk Container Terminal (NUTEP, port of Novorossijsk), Iljichevsk container terminal (Ukraine). Besides, NCC operates the project of Baltic Container Terminal in Ust-Luga and logistics center and container terminal Shushary in Leningrad region.

NUTEP is located in the port of Novorossijsk. Its current volume of transshipment totals 130,000 TEU with a perspective for expansion to 750,000 TEU per year.
