Container Corporation of India sees Q1 profit rise 24pc

Container Corporation of India has reported a 24.2 per cent increase in net profits to INR1.6 billion (US$39.3 million) for the first quarter compared with INR1.3 billion for the same period last year, according to Myris, an Indian financial web site.
Sales for the quarter rose 18.74 per cent to INR8.08 billion compared with the corresponding quarter, a year ago. Operating margins fell 24.50 per cent year on year.
