In January-April 2007, Commercial Seaport of Kaliningrad increased its throughput by 34.6%, year-on-year, to 1.698 million tons, the port’s press center reports according to RZD-Partner. The port attributes the results to a 42.2% growth of export (to 1.356 million tons). In particular, transshipment of export coke and coal grew 2.3 times to 154.8 thou tons, heavy fuel oil - 7 times to 179.7 thou tons, cast iron – 1.5 times to 235.2 thou tons, rolled metal products - +21.4% to 492 thou tons. Transshipment of import cargo totaled 342.6 thou tons (+11.2%, year-on-year). Over the reported period, металлопроката increased container throughput by 38% to 41.342 thou TEU.
