In January-March 2007, railways of CIS countries increased cargo loading by 36.99 million tons (+7.4%), year-on-year, RZD-Partner reports. Besides, field operation of railway administrations of CIS, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia demonstrate stable growth of cargo and passenger transportation: 519.905 million tons of cargo (+2.2% against plan).The highest growth falls on bulk cargo: coke (+13%); chemical and mineral fertilizers (+5.8%); oil and oil products (+2.6%); iron ore (+7.5%); cement (+37.5%); timber (+4.5%); construction cargo (+15.3%); containerized cargo (+ 8.6%) industrial raw materials (+20.5%); огнеупоры
(+26.7%); motor cars (+25.8%); machines and equipment (+15.7%); metal structures (+15%). Loading at railways of Kirgizia grew by 69.9%, Moldavia - +63.6%, Armenia - +36.5%, Latvia - +21.3%, Uzbekistan - +19.9%, Estonia - +15.2%, Georgia - +14.8%, Turkmenistan - +10.8%, Ukraine - +12%, Kazakhstan - +7.8%, Russia - +6.3%. Loading of Byelorussia and Tajikistan railways has not changed a lot against January-March 2006. The highest cargo turnover was demonstrated by railways of Armenia (+93.8%), Kirgizia (+90.5%), Tajikistan (+21.4%), Ukraine (+18.7%), Uzbekistan (+17.6%), Estonia (+15.5%), Russia (+12.4%), Turkmenistan (+11.8%), Kazakhstan (+10.5%), Byelorussia (+4.9%) and Latvia (+1.1%). Loading of containers surged 2.5%. Loading of large-capacity containers grew by 6.2%.
