COSCO to inject 10,000 teu ships on Asia-Europe

COSCO is believed to inject the first three of its four Hyundai H.I. 10,000 teu newbuildings (COSCO ASIA class) on its Far East-Europe 'North China Express' service (NCX - 31211 - part of CKYH) in replacement of four 8,400 teu ships. The NCX would then be run with three ships of 10,000 teu and five ships of 9,469 teu. The first of them is expected to be delivered this summer.Although plans to redeploy the three 8,400 teu displaced ships remain unknown, they would help to complete -directly of through further cascading- the planned upgrade of the CKYH's Asia-Europe 'South China Express' loop (SCX - 31214) (See related news), as for the moment, only five of the eight 5,500 teu ships are planned to be replaced by 7,500 teu ships.Another four units of 9,850 teu are to be delivered in March 2009-March 2010.
