Oslo Marine Group Ltd (‘OMG’), the investment, insurance and leasing group, based in St Petersburg, Russia, today announces that it has set up a new representative office. Based in the heart of the City of London, the new office will be managed by Keith Parker, who has previously held senior positions with Novae Group plc (formerly SVB Group) and CLM Insurance Fund plc. Mr Parker said the new office would enhance the level of service, by acting as a contact point and source of information, for OMG’s UK and international clients to the broad range of services provided by OMG. Vitaly Arkhangelsky, general director of OMG, commented: “Our decision to launch a London representative office is a clear demonstration of OMG’s increasing involvement and commitment to the London financial markets. It will allow us to work more closely with our UK-based trading partners as well as developing further links with prospective partners.” OMG has a diverse portfolio of investment, leasing and insurance companies and is involved in a number of capital projects within the St Petersburg area. The business is currently constructing a multifunctional terminal in the Port of St Petersburg. The first phase of the project to build a ‘Ro-Ro’ facility, enabling OMG to import up to 12,500 cars per month from Nissan in the UK, was completed in November 2006. The next phase of the project will provide an additional area of six hectares for general cargoes. The final phase will connect the terminal to the railway network. OMG also has a number of other projects, including the construction of two business centres in St Petersburg and a sawmill near the city.
